Fungal infections of the toenails, is estimated to affect up to 1.6 million Australians. Current available treatments include antifungal nail lacquers that are applied daily/weekly and prescribed oral medications. Applying lacquers is a long process and becomes quite tedious, whilst prescribed oral medications can interact with other drugs and can produce adverse effects making them unsuitable for some people.

Photodynamic Antimicrobial Therapy otherwise known as PACT is a simple, pain free, safe therapy with no known side-effects or contraindications. It works by destroying fungal cells upon exposure to light of a specific wavelength that results in a chemical reaction that kills targeted cells without harming healthy tissue. A typical course of treatment consists of as little as 3 sessions.
